Favorite TV shows-Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, Will & Grace, Friends, and Southpark My first band was called Formula. I formed it with High School friends that I had known for years. We played local talent shows and eventually ended up doing the Mid-South Fair Talent Contest as a last minute invitation and won our category, best band. We won with the song "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' by Journey. We recorded three studio songs, "Eyes Of Fire", "Long Road Home" and "Hold Me". The second band I was in was called Via Satellite. These guys were incredible. Christopher Morley was the lead guitarist, songwriter, co-singer and the leader of the band. He had formed the band with Richard Anderson, the keyboardist and an amazing one at that. Russell Nicholson played drums and Tracy Ayer was the bassist. We played local clubs in Murfreesboro, TN and Nashville. As I said, we did originals, but also did covers by bands like Journey, Styx, Yes, Boston, Kansas, and many others. It was a fun time. We played together for about 3 years. The band split and Chris and I worked together for a while longer. We soon called it quits too. After a two year hiatus, I started singing again. I moved to California in late '95 and worked with a producer on a couple of songs. I had never really tried writing with Via Satellite too much, but after the time off, I started writing songs. "Can I Hold You" and "Primitive Love" were the songs that came out of my time with Keith Gaudette, the producer in California. More to come....... |
